Dr. Daniel Kwayisi is a highly knowledgeable professional in the field of Geology. He has a solid background in petrology and tectonics, having earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Geology, a Master of Philosophy in Geology from the University of Ghana, and a Doctoral degree in Geology from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Dr. Daniel Kwayisi has been conducting extensive research on the Precambrian geology of Ghana for over a decade and is actively involved in base metal and industrial mineral exploration from prospecting to a consulting role.
Some of his projects include studying the architecture of the Buem Structural Unit and its implications for the tectonic evolution of the Pan-African Dahomeyide Orogen, as well as the geological evolution of the granitoids of the Suhum basin and Lawra belt and petro-hydrogeological studies of crystalline aquifers in the Pan-African Dahomeyide belt.
His academic contributions are evident in the numerous publications he has published in both local and international journals.
Dr. Daniel Kwayisi is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Earth Science, University of Ghana. His leadership role in the Department of Earth Science, University of Ghana include Graduate Coordinator (2020-2021), Examinations Officer (2021-2023), and Equipment Committee Member.
He is a Hall Tutor, and member of the Elizabeth Sey Hall Management committee and a fellow of Akuafo Hall of the University of Ghana. Currently, he serves as a Postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, where he focuses on the evolution of plate tectonics in the Paleoarchean.
Moreover, Dr. Daniel Kwayisi is an active member of the geological community. He is a life member and newsletter editor/Information Officer of the Geological Society of Africa. He is also a member of the Ghana Institute of Geoscientists, where he serves as the Secretary of the Elections Committee and a member of the Conference Committee.
Other international geological memberships include the Young Earth Scientists Network, AMREC Working Group, the Geological Society of South Africa, the European Association of Geochemistry, and the European Union of Geoscience. His involvement in these associations reflects his dedication and active local and international participation.
